      Welcome to Israel!
Welcome by a representative of WeRIsrael and transfer to Tel Aviv.

LDS Group Tours to Israel - Caesarea

      Day 2: Jaffa - Caesarea

You will begin your vacation with a tour of the city of Tel Aviv and a visit to Old Jaffa (Joppa) and the Artists’ Quarter. Jaffa is where Peter received his vision, leading to the expansion of missionary work to gentiles. It is also where Jonah attempted to flee from the Lord’s presence aboard a ship bound for Tarshish.
From Jaffa, we will head out along the Mediterranean Sea where our focus will shift to the Apostles Peter and Paul as we discover Caesarea. Here, the Roman centurion Cornelius became the first gentile to convert to Christianity, and it is here that Paul related his account of his vision on the road to Damascus to King Agrippa. We will visit the picturesque old Roman aqueduct and you can wade in the Mediterranean Sea. We conclude our visit to Caesarea at the Roman Theatre and the Hippodrome where chariot races were held.
      Drive to Tiberias.
      Overnight: Tiberias

LDS Group Tours to Israel - Nazareth

Day 3: Sea of Galilee - Nazareth – Cana - Mount Tabor

Today, we will drive to Cana, the place where Christ turned water into wine at a wedding feast, on our way to Nazareth. Nazareth was the boyhood home of Jesus. Here, we will visit the Church of Annunciation and a local synagogue.
We will then go to Mount Precipice, which has a sweeping view of the Jezreel Valley.
From there, we will drive to Mount Tabor, where we will discuss the transfiguration of the Savior. It was here that Christ was transfigured and heavenly messengers conferred the keys of the kingdom to Peter, James, and John. Also, on Mount Tabor, Deborah and Barak gathered their forces and defeated Sisera’s iron chariots.
To top off the evening, we will dine on St. Peter’s fish.
      Overnight: Tiberias

LDS Group Tours to Israel - Tabgha

Day 4: Sea of Galilee - Tabgha - Capernaum

We will begin our journey today by driving along the shores of the Sea of Galilee before arriving at Tabgha. Tabgha is an area situated on the north-western shore of the Sea of Galilee and is the traditional site of the miracle of the multiplication of loaves and fish.
Then, we will visit Capernaum, which was the center of Jesus’s Galilean ministry. In Capernaum, Christ performed many miracles and gave many teachings, including the “Bread of Life” sermon.
We will then stop at the Mount of Beatitudes where we will ponder the great truths delivered by Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount.

LDS Group Tours to Israel - Boat Ride

Day 5: Tel Dan – Banias - boat ride, Sea of Galilee

We will start the day by driving to the Upper Galilee on our way to Tel Dan. Here, Jeroboam erected a golden calf for the Israelites to worship, marking the beginning of the events that would end with the “the ten lost tribes of Israel”. The restored walls and gates give us an excellent idea of the fortifications Joshua had to face as he conquered the land.
We will visit Banias, known as Caesarea Philippi in the days of Jesus, where he asked his disciples, “Whom do ye say that I am?”
Our day would not be complete without a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee where we will discuss Jesus walking on the water and stilling the storm.
      Overnight: Tiberias

LDS Group Tours to Israel - Arbel Cliff

Day 6: Arbel Cliff - Beth Shean

We will start the morning with a visit to the Arbel Cliff for a fantastic view of the Sea of Galilee.
We will then visit the strategic site of Beth Shean. At these impressive ruins, we will see the splendor of Roman life and Hellenistic culture.
Drive to Jerusalem through the Jordan Valley.
On the way, we'll stop at Christ’s baptismal site on the Jordan River.

      Overnight: Jerusalem

LDS Group Tours to Israel - Old City Jerusalem

      Day 7: Old City, Jerusalem

Today, we reach the spiritual pinnacle of our pilgrimage as we retrace the footsteps of the Savior during the last hours of his life and feel the deep appreciation these places create.
We begin on Mt. Zion at the traditional site of the Last Supper that was shared with devoted apostles. We will then visit St. Peter in Gallicantu, the probable site of the cock crowing and the Palace of Caiaphas where Jesus was tried.
From there, we will visit Gethsemane, the Garden of the Savior’s deepest prayers. In the afternoon, we will continue on our journey covering the last hours of the Savior’s life. We will visit The Church of St Anne where the Pools of Bethesda were located. Here, Jesus commanded the bedridden man to leave his bed and walk.
This wonderful day finishes at Golgotha and the Garden Tomb where we will have time to ponder the Resurrection and the final triumph of Christ.
      Overnight: Jerusalem

LDS Group Tours to Israel - Massada

Day 8: Jerusalem - BYU Jerusalem Center - Massada - Dead Sea

This morning, we'll visit the Brigham Young University (BYU) Jerusalem Center with the Orson Hyde Memorial Garden.
We will travel to Masada. Here, we will take a cable car to the top of Masada to see the ruins of the palace-fortress built by King Herod. We will discuss the history of the Zealots’ last stand against the Romans.
From Masada, we will drive to Qumran to visit the site where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered.
If possible, we will bathe in the Dead Sea.

We will afterwards travel to Bethlehem, the site of the Savior’s birth. Here, we will visit the Church of the Nativity, which is one of the oldest continuously operating churches in the world and is built over the cave that traditionally marks the birthplace of Christ. We will then visit Shepherds Hill.
      Overnight: Jerusalem

LDS Group Tours to Israel - Temple Mount

      Day 10: Jerusalem - Temple Mount - Western Wall - Hezekiah’s tunnel

We will start our day by exploring the ruins located south of the Temple Mount where you can walk the sidewalks and stairs of Jesus’s time. We will climb the Temple Mount where both Solomon’s and Herod’s temples once stood and where the magnificent Dome of the Rock and Al Aksa Mosque now stand.
Visit the Western Wall, the most sacred site of the Jewish faith. You can write a prayer on a note and place it in the cracks of the wall as millions have done before you.
We will walk along the Western Wall tunnels, visit the City of David, and walk through Hezekiah’s Tunnel, built over 2500 years ago to secure the water supply of Jerusalem during the Assyrian siege. You will need a flashlight for the tunnel. At the end of the tunnel, there is the Pool of Siloam where the man born blind washed as instructed by Jesus and came away seeing.
