      We hope you do not read this hungry… Israel has become an international culinary force. In a country where there is such a spicy approach to life, you will find many spices and aromas. Israeli cuisine is known for being rich and varied, and we would love take you on a culinary journey.

      A culinary tour through Israel is one of the most wonderful ways to truly experience the country.

      With us, you will start the day with a healthy and colorful breakfast, continue on to a guided tour through the market at lunchtime, where you can taste special delights – or on a guided culinary tour in the market amongst the market-stalls and food merchants.

      From there, we will take you for a fast and exciting ride in a dune buggy to one of the wineries situated in the mountains, and there, indulge in a rich meal – including wines – on a terrace overlooking Jerusalem.

      Culinary Tours in Israel - Pomegranate

      Day 1: Airport – Jerusalem – Dinner with a chef

      Welcome to Israel!
      Arrival at Ben Gurion Airport, near Tel Aviv.
      Reception by a representative of WeRIsrael and transfer to Jerusalem. Arrive at the hotel and be welcomed with fresh lemonade or orange juice. Take your time to freshen up in the hotel.
      Eat dinner at Machneyuda Restaurant, which is probably the most famous restaurant in Israel! Maybe you’ll get lucky and meet the legendary chef of the restaurant – Assaf Granit. By the way, Assaf is also a judge in the Israeli Master Chef television series, so if you want to get some tips for cooking, this is the time.

      Day 2: Jerusalem Old City – Local food

      Today, visit the Old City of Jerusalem, including the four quarters. Each has unique history, architecture, cuisine, and atmosphere.
      Walk through the Via Dolorosa to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. Ask your guide where to get the best hummus in the Old City! We bet he’ll say Hummus Lina, although, to be honest, it’s hard to choose.
      Continue through the Jewish Quarter and visit the Western Wall and the "Cardo Maximus", a Roman street.
      You can't finish your day without the best dessert the Old City has to offer – the famous knafeh of Jafar! Knafeh is a pastry made with goat cheese and served with an amazing sweet syrup. Finish your day with a walk through the Oriental Bazaar.
      Return to the hotel and freshen up.
      Eat dinner at an Ultra-Orthodox home and learn how to bake the famous Jewish bread – challah.

      Day 3: Jerusalem - Segway tour - Machane Yehuda Market - Shabbat dinner

      Open your day with a typical Israeli breakfast at the hotel – enjoy fresh vegetables and fruit, taste the unique cheeses, and take a big bite of warm bread!
      Start your day with a Segway tour through the city. You will visit the magical neighborhood of Mishkenot Shaananim, ride across the Old City and the New City,view Jerusalem from an amazing vantage point, and much more!
      At noon, arrive at Machane Yehuda, the famous market of Jerusalem for a tasting tour! Visit the different stands and discover the unique and view Jerusalem from an amazing vantage point. Experience the market through the stories, the people, the smells, and the atmosphere.
      Take some time to shop in the market. Ask your guide which is the best shop to buy spices to take home!
      Experience a traditional Shabbat dinner with a hosting family. Taste the traditional food, sing along with your friends, and just enjoy!

      Day 4: Masada – Dead Sea

      Today, you will spoil yourself in a different way – with the magical water and mud of the Dead Sea!
      Drive to the Dead Sea area and enjoy beautiful views of the Judean Desert.
      Drive to the Masada Fortress: Ascend and descend by cable car and join a guided walking tour around the fortress. Our recommendation for the brave is to climb the Masada at sunrise. You will never see such a beautiful sunrise in your life!
      Continue on to the Dead Sea shore – float in the water and cover yourself with natural mud! Your skin will feel so healthy that you won’t want to leave!
      Drive along the Jordan Valley to the Galilee region.

      Culinary Tours to Israel - Restaurant

      Day 5: Golan Heights - Jeep ride - Winery

      Drive to the Golan Heights. Visit Mt. Bental – one of the best viewpoints in the area and drink a cold milkshake while enjoying the stunning view.
      The north of Israel is known for its amazing wines so for lunch, we will visit a local winery that makes wine from cherries! We will hear the story of the winery from the owners, taste some wine, and eat lunch.
      In the afternoon, we’ll take a jeep ride through the beautiful mountain scenery of the Golan Heights. We’ll stop for coffee and baklava and have a conversation with a Druze woman who might agree to give us some details about the secret Druze religion. You will hear about the healing forces of the local medicinal herbs in the area and learn some "grandmother secrets" you can use at home.
      We'll continue our jeep ride to watch the sunset from one of the hills in the Golan Heights and then head back to our kibbutz.

      Culinary Tours to Israel - Cooking

      Day 6: Galilee - Olive oil workshop – Nazareth - Caesarea

      Today, we will explore the area of the Galilee. We'll start our day by participating in an olive oil workshop and understand why Israel is famous for its olive oil. Hopefully, we will have a chance to experience the olive harvest - if it's the right season!
      Afterwards, we will drive to Nazareth and enjoy the best the city has to offer. We’ll walk around the colorful market, visit the Church of the Annunciation, and just enjoy the unique atmosphere.
      Then, we’ll eat lunch at a local restaurant that is run by one of the best chefs in the north of Israel. This extraordinary chef will reveal to you some of the secrets of Galilean-Arab cooking.
      Drive along the shores of the Mediterranean Sea to Tel Aviv. Stop on the way in Caesarea for a magical fish dinner in the old city, right in front of an incredible sunset.

      Day 7: Tel Aviv - Hummus workshop - Israeli food bloggers - EatWith

      You have arrived in the capital of food in Israel – Tel Aviv!
      Join a hummus workshop so you can become a hummus expert and be able to decide, like every Israeli, which is the best hummus in Israel. Needless to say, you can combine your 'olive oil skills' you learnt the day before with your new hummus skills!
      Have lunch with a leading Israeli food blogger in a restaurant that hires youth at risk.
      Drive to Old Jaffa, walk through the old city and the Artists' Quarter. Ask your guide on the way to let you taste a pastry from one of Israel's best bakeries! Trust us, it’s worth the calories.

      Day 8: Tel Aviv - Food photography workshop - Neve Tsedek - Pub crawl

      In order for you to be the best foodie, we have organized for you a food photography workshop with a famous Israeli food photographer, so you will learn how to take photos of food from every possible angle and make it look really good!
      Have a delicious lunch at one of Israel's highest restaurants, from which you can see all of Tel Aviv!
      Take an afternoon walk in the small authentic streets of the neighborhood of Neve Tsedek, which is full of galleries and local artists.
      Check out the two best ice-cream places in the neighborhood and decide which one has a larger variety of flavors!
      Your experience in Israel ends with the best pub crawl the city has to offer!
      Experience the night life of the city that never stops!
