Day 8: Madaba - Mount Nebo - Allenby Bridge

Continue on to visit Madaba and Mount Nebo.
Madaba has a rich history, dating back to the days of the Bible and is known as “The City of Mosaics”.
Madaba offers many sites to explore; amongst them is the marvelous Byzantine mosaic map, dating back to the 6th century. The mosaic is situated in the contemporary Greek Orthodox church of St. George, and depicts the Middle East area, especially the Land of Israel and Jerusalem.
The last site to see before leaving Jordan is the fabulous Mount Nebo.
Mount Nebo is one of the most revered holy sites in Jordan and where Moses stood and looked at Israel before he died.. Visit the small Byzantine church that was built here by early Christians. Stand on the platform in front of the church and admire the view over the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea. You can see as far as the rooftops of Jerusalem and Bethlehem, and the view is breathtaking.
Cross the Allenby Bridge into Israel.
      Overnight: Dead Sea
